Hmm, not sure about that, but that's the joy of sports... endless debate over what might have happened vs what actually happened.  (e.g. what if Hamhuis hadn't gotten injured in game one in 2011?)

Used to be, back in the day, during the winter Olympics we could automatically count 2 medals for hockey & 2 for curling. The rest of the hockey world (and curling) has caught up to us now.

The only reason there's parity is because the NHL sat this one out.

Except for the gold medal match the women's hockey is merely an exhibition.

Randomly going down a YouTube rabbit hole of "best of hockey announcing."

Gary Thorne is my fav. Bob Cole for the nostalgia for sure

RIP Mike Bossy. Probably the best pure goal scorer in NHL history. I never saw a faster wrist shot than from this guy. I was talking to a co-worker whose family was close to Bob Nystrom of those dominant Islanders teams. On several occasions, he had the opportunity to go into the dressing room to meet some players & he said Bossy always had a cigarette going.

Bossy was the ultimate sniper, and played hard every shift.  Definitely sad news.

RIP Mr. Bossy 🌹

His hockey card in the playground trades was always valuable and traded high

Still is, $5K: https://www.ebay.com/itm/373661346335?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=373661346335&targetid=1262749492022&device=m&mktype=&googleloc=9032810&poi=&campaignid=15428034462&mkgroupid=133947154481&rlsatarget=pla-1262749492022&abcId=9300763&merchantid=6296724&gclid=CjwKCAjw9e6SBhB2EiwA5myr9hRcYmlYPC2XnrD9oa18V7VubkPJNp6HVZD5aD5RnFn_P_Ec0wP0hxoCHJ4QAvD_BwE

I will never forget this Mike Bossy goal, 1982 Stanley cup final, game 1, OT: Harold Snepsts passes to Bossy in the slot, Bossy scores

Lafleur & Bossy both big-time cigarette smokers, both had lung cancer.

Amazing how fast McDavid got that shot away.  Couldn't properly see it at regular speed.
