The Pacific is a mess this season. It's hard to get too excited about the Canucks being in first place when, on any given day, the points spread between first and fifth is only 4 points, or less.

I think some luck will get them into the playoffs, but they will get bounced in the first round because only a few guys on the team have experienced playoff intensity. But, it will be a good learning experience for them.

This is all I am hoping for.  They might get a crazy run and make it to the next round, but just being there is the most important thing for this team right now.

Bieksa was funny.

He was... it would have been even funnier if everyone on the ice could hear what he was saying.  That was the only flaw in what was an otherwise great ceremony.

It turns out that "some luck" has a name... "Markstrom".

100% chance that players already have it.  Think about how fast those mumps outbreaks move through the league.  I hope they at least wait until after VAN & WPG play on Sunday.

It's done and dusted.  A friend of mine who works in the industry was just told a half hour ago.

Just read this trivia on Sportsnet:

The Stanley Cup has only seen two seasons where it wasn’t awarded: In 2004-05, because of a yearlong lockout, and 1918-19, because of the Spanish flu.

A high level Italian soccer player tested positive (Juventus player named Rugani).  They were already playing games with no fans for the last couple weeks.

Funny that they call it the Spanish Flu when it didn't originate there; the Spanish were just the first to not hide reports of there incidents of the H1N1 virus.

I'm impressed that the NHL has managed to make this happen so smoothly (though the cost must be staggering), and the hockey has been pretty good. That the Canucks are playing well is a nice bonus.

Not sure how they're going to pull off a regular season without it becoming a gong show like MLB.

Didn't really need any audio for that game....watching Vegas slam 'Nucks through the boards and score a bunch of goals was pretty self-explanatory.
