The 6.0 is a piece of shit. The 6.4 is marginally better. The new 6.7 hasn't had enough time to be proven to be a piece of shit, but it will get there. That is why those newer fords are a cheap. I probably wouldn't even recommend one to Tungsten.

Go with a dodge. If you can get down there (depending on how much you want to spend and what you are looking for) Dave Smith in Kellogg, ID is the best place in the Northwest to buy one. I don't know what the savings are these days for buying a truck south of the border, but I'm sure it is still pretty good.

FYI, I bought an 02 dodge off a buddy for $12k USD with 153k miles on her. Extended cab, 8' flat bed, 6 speed manual. You will pay more for a diesel w/ manual (especially that 6 speed) so you could probably get a good auto for under 10k. The only major problem with the Dodges is the front end.

The one thing I will say for the Fords, if you can find a 7.3L it is a fairly safe bet as far as the engine goes, but DO NOT go near any of the new 6.x L fords.

Are you high?

The 6.0 is a soso engine,the 6.4 is a complete pos.

I'm currently running two 6.7's. My work truck is at 155000 I think and I've done nothing but filters and oil. The def system shit the bed,but that was warranty.

I run the work truck at or above GVWR and still get 18/100 kn.

Imo the new ford is the only choice, unless you can find a mint 7.3 or 06 duramax

Work truck is a 2013 F350 6.7 Fx4. It was 1900kms. I've had it almost three weeks. It's been towed once, and today I had to drive it to the dealer because it could barely run.

First time was ignition, warranty. This time is was smoking like crazy, stunk and wasn't on regen.

The Duramax seem decent all around. Id think the IFS would be nicer on those long trips. For a few years there GM made a nice looking truck.

Ive seens lots of Ford's billowing white and blue smoke, the 6.0L is total crap and when I looked under the hood of one I wondered just how the hell anyone could work on it?

Sounds like diesel is the way to go! More research required on the motors… and maybe I shouldn't count the duramax out.

Other than that though, the best riding/driving Ford i've ever been in. 2005 duramax is way nicer on the highway and interior quality tho.

Fair enough. I'm not fucking retarded enough to buy a ford, so I'm just repeating what I've heard.

Makes sense that you would be dumb enough to know that first hand.

That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.

I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.

If you can I would find a 2002. Or last year 7.3 The early 7.3's did have some issues, although by this point in their lives they should be sorted out.
A 13 year old diesel, with as near as makes no difference 300,000kms for 9000 isn't a bargain. And there are bargains to be found. You should pm me.

I'm not the one who bought a dodge here.

I've been out of country but can I just chime in and say the Raptors is amazing and if budget didn't matter on a truck I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I asked my wife if I sold one of my trucks, one ATV, one gun and both mountain bikes if I could buy one. She said no.

But yeah, go Ford. Ford are good. I own three, I've worked on dozens and driven tons. They are great.

I have heard the 6.7 ford is a much better engine

Junior got as good deal on an 04 dodge with cummins it was a rig truck or sft we know the mechanic who buys them at auctions in alberta and fixes/resells them , when i was there he had a dodge that had been parked in a lake for awhile, junior's truck had aspirated a cheap plugged up air filter
