Don't know if your talking about the link I posted. I'm sure there is some political bullshit here, but I also think there is some truth.

"On Tuesday, New Democratic Party leader Adrian Dix said the Timber Export Advisory Committee (TEAC) determined last December that logs from Quatsino Sound on Vancouver Island should be sold to Teal-Jones of Surrey instead of being shipped overseas.

But Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson overruled that recommendation, Dix said, allowing the logs to be sold into foreign markets."

Admittedly I am no BC Forestry expert, but isn't the industry on the coast completely different than what Hard Tack is talking about? I thought up where he is they were just mowing down pine beetle trees.

hard tack can't differentiate anecdotes from reality. This should be common knowledge on here by now

Uhhhh….I'm telling you exactly what is happening. How is that ancedotal?

Beetle kill is going for chip and low grade dimensional..mostly chip though,as well as balsam.

The mills are running mostly spruce and some fir from what I see. Maybe XXXer can do some trainspotting and let us (ancecdotally) what, besides coal, is heading through his town on its way to the port at Rupert.

You'll have to talk to Brazil and Russia about that one.

I think without all the cattle pastures in Brazil, that used to be rainforest, McDonald's would have a difficult time existing.

August 2013, he'll never risk approving the northern leg prior to his re-election.

According to some conductor I know a little earlier it was a whole lotta coal routed up from the US to cover a shortage which happened when Australian coal was held up with all those floods and what not

BC mills are super efficent and the reason as I understand it was that they had to when the U.S. was rapeing them with duties during the softwood lumber dispute

I should get into politics, I got you guys talking about forestry in BC when it started out Alberta's royalty structure with no effort at all… I bet I could do a better job than any of Harper's current cabinet at redirecting public attention away from evil shit.

Reality Check.

Land use in Brazil:

Cattle Ranches - 8.5 million hectares

Soya Beans - 22.3 million hectares

Corn - 13.5 million hectares

You want to protect the rainforest? Don't eat soy.
