Looks like the bidding ended at $43,000. Not too bad of a deal.

I paid $6 for my 81 westy. Love every minute of it, but for $43, I'd much rather go with a $34K Sportsmobile and $9K in gas.

Just bought an Element and went camping in it on the Thanksgiving weekend…at 6'4" it's a tight fit doing it as I did, but all gear was inside and it was comfy…

If I won the loto I'd buy one of the 60-100k GoWesty Syncro rebuilds, but I'd have a TDI put in for the torque.

If I was struggling to pull together the cash no way I'd justify the outrages price of a meticulously restored Synrco Westy.

I would want a 1 ton or heavier chassis though, as it is I kill a lot of F-350 (1 ton) suspension components.

What's wrong with hot wiring your fuel pump to the cigarette lighter on Greenstone Mtn?

Or rolling down Harper Mtn to the highway to get a tow and a new clutch ?

Or doing an oil change on the Coquihalla at 10 PM?

Or sleeping at Home Depot waiting for the black smoke to clear out so you can breathe and see ?

I just remember camping and riding deep up an FSR in the chilcotins on a weekend. didnt see one person drive by in 4 days and I only had enough beer for one extra day

Or replacing throttle cable with zip ties. I swear, there's no sense of adventure any more. I could go on, as I'm quite good at adjusting points on the highway now too.

Ah, but I do have a nice cold beer fridge that doesn't run out of ice.
