Where do you put the bikes?
I guess on your NSR.

A 1980 or 1989 van from New Jersey for $29K US?
It's an 89, and bidding isn't done yet Craig.

Yabut why does the listing say:
"Condition: Used
VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): WV2ZZZ25ZKG087122
Year: 1980
Interior Color: Grey
Make: Volkswagen
Number of Cylinders: 4
Model: Bus/Vanagon"
Maybe Ebay doesn't have a listing for a 1989?
I noticed that bidding hasn't ended.
Was it Ned that had one and found that the Syncro drivetrain wouldn't stand up to offroad use?
89, and the condition is remarkable. I'm no VW fanatic but I recognize that this is truly a good find, and well worth whatever the bidding might end at. I predict near $60k by the time the auction is done if the right crowd is looking at it.
If I had $30-40k I would be bidding.
Off-roading in a camper van on more challenging road than my 2.0L air cooled RWD can do would just result in damage and broken dishes. I've broken sway bar links on smooth gravel roads.
I think for big bucks like that synchro I'd get a new truck and one of these

Googling the VIN would be prudent before wasting your money.
Looks like the bidding ended at $43,000. Not too bad of a deal.

I know that. Just a nice vintage car that's all. A bit of searching revealed a few inconsistencies with the odometer and model of the van.
Those vans are interesting but fuel hogs. 8-12mpg for those vans vs. the 25+ the westy can do. Kinda defeats my own purpose of traveling in a camper van: budget. Not looking for a rugged rock crawling 4x4, but a syncros westy will go places that a 2wd westy can't.
