Why do so many white people have this and other native themed tattoos?

I don't understand why all young people feel the need to get tattoos at all. I have yet to see what you've posted but it seems like everyone in the 18-25 range are all about getting tattoos.
I like my tattoos. Thankfully I'm also the only person who needs to like them so it works out.
I trhink it's funny that koi fish are trendy as fuck.
"Hey brah! Get a koi! They're all Asian, and show you're fucking spiritual!"
Koi are stupid big goldfish.
ANd they taste like shit.

My younger brother has Koi tattooed on his side. Makes absolutely no sense to me. The fucker takes a hour to make up his mind when ordering at McDonalds, I have no clue how he ever decided what he wanted permanently scared into him.

That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.
I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.
Traditional or"old school" style tattoos are extremely popular right now which is what that native tattoo is. Been seeing alot of dreamcatchers and womens portraits in the style lately. I think I'm right around 52 tattoos, all black, never been into colour. I'm very happy and proud of the work on my body.
yeah bro!!

I thought you went with barbed wire?
Actually in (traditional) Japanese culture the Koi does have a meaning, and a tattoo as well. For someone who understands Japanese (tattoo) culture it does make sense, same as a tattoo of a dragon, a tiger, a tengu, an oni, or a hanya mask.
Problem is, that most people do not care enough for the meaning and just want to get a tattoo that looks cool, etc.
Horiyoshi III, THE japanese tattoo master/artist, said in an interview recently that he just does not understand people who rub their tattoos into everybody's face. He said that these are private matters and should be treated accordingly.
Personally I do not understand the new wave of "old-school" tattoos - why should I get a tattoo of any given motif if the basi technique has been improved in the last few decades? That is as if you were driving around in a Tin Lizzy.

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.
When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

I'm surprised at how early some people are getting hand and neck tattoos. The ability to conceal your tattoos is pretty handy.
But then again I started getting tattooed 25 years ago and my attitudes towards them (or how they fit in my life) hasn't changed at all. But that might not have been the case.
