a 22r is a fairly simple swap into one of those. thats almost twice the horsepower 115 vs. 67 and still very economical
you're on crack.

I'll go into more detail now, my typing will suck though, 2 fingers taped together.
first off, body lift is necessary to clear the 22r head.
the you need an adapter to mate up with the zuki 5 spd, or fab mounts for a toy trans, the an adapter to make that work with the divorced tcase, whick won't do so well with the power of a 22r, so you can beef that ($$), or you can swap in a toy t-case, but then you run into the offset diff on a zuki rear axle, so you need to figure out a way to fix that (toy axles), then get yer ebrake and everything to work with that, plus weld on perches at the right width, then make zuk steering work with a yota front axle, or yota steering work with the sami's steering box….

yeah complete toy driveline swap was what i was thinking. ott makes adapters for toy/suzki
a zuki trans won't do too well behind a 22r if the driver's not careful. People who are learning to wheel are not careful.
Far better swap would be, as already suggested by someone else, a 16V1.6L. Fully bolt in and with more than enough juice.
While were're on the subject of engine swaps though, 2.5L out of a YJ is enough power to do smokeshows.

There's a '91 long box Suzi pickup in town here. Black on black, SOA, 33's, 22R….it's F'in sweet.
I've got one now on 31's wheels like a fucking dream! Ask me any question you want i probably have the answer. That thing looks like its in mint shape for a suzuki, yes the engine is under powered you can swap the 1.6 l tracker engine into them really easy to give it the extra juice. ummm did i mention they wheel like a dream? I can spin the tires in mine with 31's (cough when its pissing rain) but i've also got a locker in the rear and when you turn with that thing in there in slippery conditions watch out. They are deffinetly givein'r trucks if your looking to pack more than 1 person (unless there light women) then i'd go for somthing else, if thats the case then i would look into a pre 85 toyota 4runner or pre 85 toyota pickup deffinetly two really awsome trucks.
get a jeep cherokee
I'm running the 1.6L 16V engine in mine with a mid range cam. With the gears in my T-case and 33s I can move along at 130km on the highway at about 4000rpm and crawl like a baby on the trail at 1000rpm.
The easy swap for you would be to do an 1.6 8V engine with one of the 100% bolt on kits out there (Calmini.com). if you stay with your carb it will be even easier. I would still recommend the fuel injection though. Makes more power with better fuel economy, but requires wiring and ECU install as well.
If you want an engine that really screams look into a Swift GTi 1.3L 16V Twin cam. Not too torquey but will bounce off the rev limiter all day long at 7300 rpm and sound real cool doing it.
There are lots of different engine swap kits out there right up to Chevy Vortec 4.3 swaps. As you start to hit engines over 100hp (40%+ increase over stock) and are running oversized tires you will need to start beefing up the drivetrain behind the T-case as well as t-case and tranny mounts. If you just want and option for when the 1.3 goes south on you then a nice simple 1.6L swap is the answer and will give you approx 15hp. 15 may not sound like much but percentage wise it's more than enough for a 2200# vehicle.
If ya did a swap, for chrissakes don't go Calmini, have you seen how Steve's treating customers?
there's a big ass thread on pirate where he berates shit out of 2 loyal long time customers.
