So last night I had brain fart. I guess I forgot to press the lock button on my remote for my vehicle. Anyways came out this morning and my helly hansen jacket, a 8 gig memory card, measuring tape, ipod cable and half a box of jumbo tictacs were gone. Spoke to my neighbors this afternoon, and two others mentioned that times they'd accidentally left their car unlocked over night they'd had bluetooths, gum, petty things stolen. Now I live in the burbs, we all have 40 foot driveways we park on meaning said thief is walking right up to our houses checking for vehicles that are unlocked. One of my neighbors daily drivers is a full size truck on 37's so, literally, climbing right up on the side to look in. Our thoughts are bold thief, but middle of the night. Obvious answer is lock your car. But I want revenge. So I'm thinking of setting up a motion activated camera or something where I can ID the thief from. Bonus is, I have lights which stay on all night on the front of my house, so theres no shady or dark spots for him to hide..

Suggestions?

IR Trailcam?

That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.

I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.

$450 - totally worth it to get those tictacs back.

My guess - local kid(s). Real thieves don't give a shit if it's locked or not!

Otherwise look out for a raccoon with fresh breath.

Stretch a trip wire across the driveway with a spike belt about 4 feet away. Wake up to find thief impaled.

I caught a black bear in my garage the other night. I ran at him with an air horn. I'm sure if you do the same to the petty thief they would run

If you find the thief, feel free to bring him to my neighborhood. My doors might not be locked, but there is a round in the chamber is pretty much everyone's house, most of their vehicles, and in many cases, on their person. All I need is both feet firmly across the threshold or inside my vehicle.
