Any recommendations? Not really into watching a lot of competition footage. Big wave stuff, good cinematography, beautiful locations etc.
Thanks.

5mm is sweet if you can find a copy. All local (and some east coast Canada too). Think its only available on VHS though. I have been meaning to get mine transferred over onto DVD forever though. Cinematography and soundtrack are pretty solid. Locations, well, less beautiful than Fiji etc. Waves are less big too.
surfing for life- even if you don't surf or care to you will be inspired
Jack McCoys movies are my favorites, film not video! one of his latest is Blue Horizon and I never get tired of watching it. Some competition segments but great story, painful to watch after Andy Irons death. Awesome cinematography and music, big screen material.
Stylemasters is cool.
Runman has some obscure ones that are fun and different, and Volcom has put out some cool/different movies too.
Freeride is an 70's movie that is a bit competition oriented but still a great watch and history lesson, hard to find in north america.
I'm falling behind with keeping up with the latest movies, up until a few years ago I had seen most all of them but I'm partial to the older movies and don't really enjoy the new school videos although they are getting better. I'll need to look through our collection to jog my memory, we have a lot and I can generate a long list of favorites for a variety of occasions, classics, travel, etc. If you are using Netflix I can look at their choices and make some recomendation, but from what you suggested I'd start with Blue Horizon.

I love the Jack Johnson films such as Thicker than Water and September Sessions.
Sipping Jetstreams is an awesome flick with lots of travel and soul.
Also try Second Thoughts, a great flick about a group of friends who camp in remote Indonesia for several months on a limited budget to surf perfect waves. Funny as hell.

Point Break
 Good call.
the drifter
Innersection had some great parts, as did who is J.O.B. and Julian Wilson's new movie. 180 degrees South was a good movie, some surfing in that. My eyes won't dry 2 has a lot of unique in the barrel footage, but the third movie was a bit repetitive and boring.
The Drifter
Castles in the Sky
Both of those are about as far away from the standard rider intro, banger aerial clips repeat
Why slag free swag?
ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.
I'm a big fan of "A Broke Down Melody". It's got a great mood and the soundtrack can't be beat.
And of course Endless Summer. If you haven't seen Endless summer don't bother with any of the other ones listed here until you do.
