If you are small GSXR 600 if you are big go with a GSXR 750.
If you go to a Gixxer forum they'll tell you to get the SV 650 or something like that. Be careful and get the faster bike. Spend money on protection.

Buy a 250 and learn on that. Starting with a 600 seriously hinders your learning.

Don't be a squid.

Start out on a 250 to 450 enduro. Much more forgiving for learning on. And comfortable for spending lots of time on.

Holy Shit that a gruesome pic. I would definately start out on a FZ6 or something similar.

dont. Soooo fun, but not worth the risk. I wiped a CBR600 into an RX7 once.

Like someone said get a dual sport….there are mini trails in every city, plus with lights you can go anywhere at night.

Safer, cheaper and waaaaaaayyyyyy more fun. 250 is perfect. I just sold my XR250L too bad for you…

If you live in Vancouver, don't get a street bike.

EVERY person I personally know that rides has gotten hit by a vehicle. Rarely was it their fault.

Ever drive in the city and get scared by some drivers? Try it on a bike.

I was riding an XT around the city for about 4 months, and I don't think I'd ever hop on a bike again. I let my license expire and that was it.

That said, if you want to get a bike to get out of the city, then go for it. Personally, being on a bike offers something a car just can't give you.

Listen to what norman said, start with a smaller bike, 600 is still pretty big for a beginner.

Can't stress this enough:
SPEND MONEY ON PROTECTION.

If you do decide to ride in the city, it's not if you'll get hit… but when.
