Uhhhh … I'm pretty sure most cops will treat the theft of a $30k excavator somewhat differently from a couple grand worth of goods pilfered from a home. And it's certainly reasonable for OP to expect it.

The excavator is worth a lot more and it's much more unique and identifiable than most consumer goods.

You're probably right but in my buddies case the liquor that was stolen alone was worth about $45 K.

Cops will set up bait cars,and I know there have been bait machines put out there.

Ill roll by the street adress listed for the guy and see what I see later today. If the machine is there,ill get the rcmp over.

Simon, any chance you can e-mail me the serial number? I had a fella contact me today on values of used 08-10 27D machines. I got a serial number to do a warranty check on a machine for him, could be it??
