Steel for body panel repair?

Well… i was going to put the slab into the back yard this weekend, and leave her there..till winterfest, but i've decided to leave her out and bring it into the garage soon … and im gonna cut it apart and tac in new non rusted steel.

now, what kind of steel do i need for body panels, im doing the hood and the fenders too.

does it matter? jsut any sheet metal or what ?

for a serious post, just see if you can find yourself a "donor" car. check the scrap yards and take some fenders and a hood that isnt rusted to shit, then put them on instead of trying to fix your existing parts. i could see that going very very bad….

im going to try that too, and just cut the parts off i need, i dont wanna just bolt on new fenders, i want experience for when i get a REAL project, this car cost me 150 dollars so its not like its gonna bea big loss, i just want to fuck around with it then drive it into the ground.

maybe if i get super bored this winter i will make it a widebody :lol:

get some galvanized sheet metal, then make sure when you are welding it, breathe in the fumes

in that case, screw the sheet metal. weld yourself in a roll cage and put on a full face. muahhahahahhahah

i actually got it running tonight :eek:

and the heat works! even the rear defrost works, and the radio, but… something is wrong with the gauge backlights..

and i love how there is no interior light :lol:
