Spotify or alternatives

I’ve used Apple Music, Google, Amazon Prime, and Spotify.

Amazon is surprisingly good and free if you already have prime. I typically use Spotify on my tablet while working and the ads don’t bother me. But I’m leaning more towards paying for Spotify as it really has the best lists and algorithms based on your habits. I’ve discovered so much good music I wouldn’t have otherwise.

If you are looking to get back into music, 100% throw $30 to Spotify for a few months. Listen to what you like for a bit and it will gently nudge you to new stuff.  I like to think I'm a sommelier of the best music on offer, hear a suggestion from Spotify and then learn it's 10 years old.

I've called the manager to complain that a lot of my musical tastes have aged.  Hopefully they will fix that.

Spotify premium doesn't have ads, it's pretty sweet.

I’m using the family account for Youtube Music. But I’ve been with them since the Google Play and Songza apps so I have many playlists saved from way back.

I really enjoyed the “Time of Day” and “Mood” playlists Songza used to offer.
