Socialism is bad
the 1st time I heard the word "co-pay" on an american website I had to ask wtf that was, being Canadian you may never have heard of it
I still don't know what that is.
I know no one is going to bite on this, so I'll just put this out there. You're a shit-flinging monkey if you think all socialism is bad.

+1
It's essence has grown skewed and distorted. It actually is, at a fundamental level, a cool thing to ponder.

"Co-pay is a type of insurance policy where the insured pays a specified amount of out-of-pocket expenses for health-care services such as doctor visits and prescriptions drugs at the time the service is rendered, with the insurer paying the remaining costs. However, unlike coinsurance, where the insured is required to pay a certain percentage of the covered costs, co-pay plans require the insured to pay a specified dollar amount.

If you use or drink municipal water out of a tap or send your kids to school (public or private), you are a filthy, socialist parasite. So that's why I get all my water out of a rain-barrel and homeschool my kids (so its no coincidence we wear rain-barrels instead of clothes).
I was born in the USA!USA!USA!, but have dual citizenship thanks to a Canadian father, the f'ed up health care system is pretty much the main reason I'd never, ever, ever, consider moving back there. Yeah, there are a few other reasons, but that one alone puts the big kibosh on ever wanting anything to do with living in that country.

Yeah, but the American capitalist healthcare system is more efficient … for healthcare companies. The US government spends about 2X taxpayers money per capita on healthcare than the Canadian government does and by most measures, we get more out of that money, with higher life expectancy and lower infant mortality. Because US health can't/won't negotiate bulk agreements with pharma they pay some of the highest drug prices in the world.

"Efficient markets, eh?"
I've heard that down there an MD spends alot of time every day dealing with HC companies trying to get procedures thru whereas up here Doc has a billing number and they just submit
yeah america is 31st in life expectancy world wide, neck and neck with Cuba the poor country they have been embargoing for 51 yrs altho I think lifestyle/obesity/inactivity has more to do with poor outcomes, I don't remember seeing too many people in Cuba who could afford to be fat
Its getting better tho America used to be 37th and Cuba was beating them

You're paying for it one way or the other. In these regards, the US is paying an order or two of magnitude more than everyone else.

Do you know what copay means?
Don't you think maybe the insurance company in the excited states is an unnecessary middleman?
I've heard an MD might spend 2 hrs a day phucking with insurance companies whereas I seem to remember my buddy would submit all his Billings once a month and couldn't go skiing midweek
