i was hoping to ask a couple questions sorta related to this thread:
I am looking at a co-op Electrical Engineering diploma from BCIT or Okanagan college. Sooo…
1[HTML_REMOVED] I have been told by a couple people that getting into things like PLC programming, Instrumentation, etc would be a good move career-wise in terms of job security in the future. Any comments?
2[HTML_REMOVED] Is it stupid to go back to school for a diploma in your early 30's? Or is this more common than I think? I've been a DBA and software developer (microsoft stuff) for the last 10 years, and really am growing tired of being in the office all day, and I get no real satisfaction from developing business applications anymore. This would pretty much be a total career turn-around.
I was hoping people could fill me in - especially if anybody has changed their career later in life - was it worth it? Do older newb people get hired as much (or more?) than young folks fresh out of school?
Thanks for any comments…
