For fuck's sake man, get off those conpiracy theory echo chamber forums. Get the news from a news outlet with a code of ethics. Somewhere where people will be fired for spewing BS, rather than rewarded with thread responses and clicks.
The Economist, NPR, The Washington Post, PBS, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, BBC. Any source with journalistic integrity and standards that fact checks.
At the very least check Snopes before digesting this crap and regurgitating it.

Dude you need to visit a dispensary and calm the fuck down man. I'm looking for peoples actual opinions. Perhaps I'm asking because whatever that echo chamber is, its the exact opposite of this echo chamber?
I can read all the shit I want and still not know why you Hepcat thinks the wall is a bad idea?
Will it destroy trade?
Will it adversely affect border traffic?
Will it adversely affect legal immigrants?
If you grew up in a detached house, did you have a fucking fence?
If you said no to any of those, post up your *own* thoughts on why you're against the wall then. Unless of course, you dont have any of your own.

Sadly, thats not just his Presidency crumbling.
I'm on the fence if there'll be a 2020 General Election.
Has Trump not seen the old movie The Alamo? They had walls, Mexicans had ladders.
Because building the wall does not change anything, neither the influx of people trying to escape failed states nor the fact that the wall does "bind" a lot of money to a project that does not make sense at all. It is not that there is no border, no great river or a very capable border patrol, you know.

A wall works for the Israelis?
$6 Billion seems like a lot until you look at how much the US spends elsewhere.
So if a Border, river and capable border patrol do a good job, what could make a better job happen?
Given the downsides of illegal immigration - the same downsides that every President before Trump has decried - why wouldn't you do something better?
If stopping illegal immigration is the goal, then a wall is the least effective way to spend money. It is the same for stopping the import of drugs. The vast majority of illegal immigration comes from people entering legally and then not leaving. It is the same here with Aussies. A wall won't stop them. The same goes for drugs. With the El Chapo trial ongoing, you get a good inside look of how he got the drugs into the US. It was hidden in cars crossing legally and in boats offshore.
In the populated areas, there already is a wall/fence. There is probably an argument for adding more wall/fence is certain spots along the border, but that is not the argument Trump is making.
Here is a good article on the costs, etc. FUN FACT: Canadians are far more likely to overstay in America than Mexicans. Who knew? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-46824649
At the end of the day it's just wasted money and after the dramatic tax cuts they just passed maybe the Tea Party should be getting all pissed off again about the deficit and fighting this wall too ... or maybe that only applies to Democrats.
Some day a prominent foreign head of state, while visiting Mexico, will go to the wall and shout "Mr. Trump - tear down that wall!"
MLK's son said Monday "Trump is trying to build walls while my father tried to build bridges". Quite right.

Should I introduce some "illegal alien" criminal statistics? Whether you believe me or not, I think the goal is to reduce the overall economic impact illegal aliens have on the US economic and locals. Humans cant mule enough per human to keep with up demand. That much is certain. The already established wall is easily circumvented. Just watch them coming over on youtube. Some you see them just dropping kids by hand over the wall.
Also, are you implying the Dems are saying something related to their job (deficit)? If so, what is it other than a wall is expensive (but $5.7 billion isnt that much).
