Wow, that sucks Jaysin. As much as I would have bugged you about the truck in the past that is a crappy situation. Like you said, atleast it was off the highway… eek. Dropping it infront of the service bay doors @ Toyota is probably the best possible thing to do

Atleast they did a recall on it,
Alot of the larger american companies don't even bother.
I'm sure toyota canada will take care of you.

Yikes! I'm guessing the truck skidded to the left, which could have ment a very ugly wreck into oncoming traffic. You should consider yourself very lucky.

And Toyota should take care of you big time.

Toyota's quality seems to have taken a dive on their american built trucks.

yea you bet Del… just minutes off the highway… It would have been a completly different story seeing as my truck veered severly to the left as soon as the tire dropped. Luckily no oncoming cars were present

LUBRICATION. THIS MAY CAUSE THE BALL JOINT TO WEAR AND LOOSEN PREMATURELY, WHICH COULD RESULT IN INCREASED STEERING EFFORT, REDUCED VEHICLE SELF-CENTERING, AND NOISE IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION.
Defect Consequence:
IN EXTREME CASES, IF THE VEHICLE IS CONTINUOUSLY OPERATED IN THIS CONDITION, THE LOWER BALL JOINT MAY SEPARATE FROM THE KNUCKLE AND COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.

So you didn't notice anything wrong, such as increased stearing effort, reduced self-centering, or noise in the front suspension?

Ouch, Whats the fluid underneath the truck? My buddies 90' SR5 blew a head gasket this morning

Common problem. A friend bought a new 4 Runner about 10-15 years ago, and within a couple days the head gasket blew.

It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.

Wow, at least you're ok and you didn't hit anyone. I'm sure Toyo will take care of
you. Keep us up to date, I'm curious how they handle this.

if you were still in PG jay you would still be driving it around like nothing was wrong.

Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.

they also call me "balloon"
