Yeah, that's a particularly good one.
This is something I'm quite partial to.

Kids got his shit together. Should have linked directly to him.
I don't know how you could make that generalization. All racism is bad. Racism takes all kinds of forms, some of it subtle, some of it not. There is racism even within communities and families (I have experienced this first hand) of people who share the same language, culture, social-economic standing and bloodlines but through the accident of genetic variation run a whole range of skin hues. Ask people from places like India, Latin America or Caribbean about this. Skin colour is a big deal.

Well I'm glad to know that when I'm called a "ginger" or told that "my kicks are coming" those people can't possibly be racist since my parents are caucasian and middle-class.
Why slag free swag?
ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.
2. WTF?
3. Is it possible that you have an issue with Germans? My post described experiences I know of and have experienced firsthand and you reply "I'm sure it is." Thank you for a truly great insight.
Don't get your back up, I was agreeing with you.
Do I have issues with Germans? Maybe vis-a-vis my maternal grandfather whose Germanic stoicism/sensibilities has now screwed up 3 going on 4 generations of my family.
I jest. Sort of. =/
Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.

Germans don't know how to make cars or play soccer.
Oops, sorry. That was the French.

Well, guess I need to work on my reading skills, eh?
Anyways, pretty interesting read, putting the Magazine Charlie Hebdo into perspective:
"You don't learn from experience. You learn from reflecting on the experience."

Reminds me of the 80s Hustler magazine cartoons.

On some Caribbean islands there is less an issue of racism and more the issue of discrimination based on social class.
And continuing the trend of to hands on with your religion.

Ok I'll respond to that point.
I just don't find those kind of arguments very solid as there are countries that are almost completely Muslim where radicals aren't an issue. In Indonesia women are completely equal to men under the law and get killed by their husbands less than they do in America. Most of the dudes I drink and get stoned with in China are Muslim.
If there can be entire communities of millions of Muslims not abusing women or killing people over religion then it's clearly not the religion's fault. It has more to do with the specific culture of the country itself. Islam can be and is a peaceful religion if you look at the behavior of Muslims on a global scale.
As I said before, religion doesn't necessarily create radicals, it gives them purpose in the name of God. Indonesia may not have the right ingredients for the type of radicalism that we see in the middle east (i.e. - reasons to hate western culture besides hacky sacking travelers, and undemocratic governments), but they still have issues because of Islam and the way it infects their culture. Did you know women in Indonesia need to take a "virginity test" to join the police, because obviously they don't want dirty hookers in uniform? At the national level Indonesia is advancing in women's rights, but thanks to Islam they are being set back at the local level. If and when things change there, it is because their government has to power to counter the Islamic traditions that subjugate women.
On a global scale Indonesia is the best one of the bunch, and yet I wouldn't want to live there as an atheist. I wouldn't want the Pancasila Youth on my ass.

I lost a lot of respect for Reza after that interview. He clearly didn't do his homework ahead of time and seemed to equate having a woman as head of state as being progressive towards women. You could see he was squirming. Bangladesh? Google that shit Reza. It has a serious extremism problem and I don't have to tell you what religion they follow.

LOL.
Indonesia
Bangladesh
Malaysia
Turkey
This is the best the Muslim world can offer according to Reza. Their shining lights of equality.
And women in countries like India or Japan are treated equally too, right?
It's not just religion; it's more culture than anything else.
