My grandpa was. He'd get Manic and not sleep for a week, and would be super productive paving driveways in the middle of the night, painting things that didn't need to be painted, going to the 24-hr coffee shop a lot. He'd wear his dutch wooden shoes around town and would tell people how proud he was of his kids.
Then he'd get super depressed and would not be able to peel himself off the couch for a month. It was tough for my grandma because she had to run the whole family as a result, and he took quite a lot of care and attention too while in both manic and depressive states.
If that sounds similar to what you're up to, then maybe you're bi-polar. But I'll wager you're not.
