If you run your tank low you will be refueling more often… 10 litres wont last as long as 20 litres.

running your tank from full to to near empty is what we were talkign about there.

fuel pumps need lube to spin. the gas in your tank is that lube. if the gas sloshes away from a pick up the pump runs dry for a second or 2. and over time all the adds up, and the pump dies. most cars now days have baffles in the tanks so its realy a none issue.

That part I know, I wanted him to explain how you'd get cavitation from running less than half a tank of gas. Near empty I can understand but not under half a tank.

There is a much simpler solution,

Drive less. Walk, run, roller skate, bike….. More.

Cell phone, Wife, four Brothers plus my Mom…so within close proximity to town…I'd just wait for delivery:)
At least that was the plan most of my vehicle owning career so far and in which time I've never had a flat other than seeing one in the morning in the driveway once or twice.
But right now, only my Safari doesn't have a spare cuz the winder-upper stripped out…the white work van was used for out of town, so it has a spare…and my newest pleasure use van is an E350 with only one bench in it, so it needs weight in the back, spare stays…

Although I agree with modifications that allow for better fuel mileage, fucking hypermilers are a scourge.

You know that you're a clown when the forum you frequent has a 14 page thread on dealing with tailgaters…

93 Nissan hardbody with the v6

Posted via Mobile Device

Modern frontiers with the v6 won't even come close to 9L/100km. Sucks.

Maybe getting an older truck is the way to go.

^^ I have a '99 with a V6 (which isn't exactly modern) and it gets about 9L/100km on a flat highway, but that increases to prolly 11-12L/100km if you get up over 120kph

Dealt with by the simple technique of slowing down. Just because they are in a hurry doesn't mean I'm in a hurry to move any faster. It makes me do the exact opposite, Slow Down.
