The way I look at it is that Joely was meant to go to Hong Kong in August for FISU games. As being pregnant may have prevented this because of the shots one has to take.

Plus side is that she can get some riding time in over the coming weeks. Plus take her bike and ride around UofM.

I know it's shitty to say but could be worse. My friend here had a baby 2 years ago but it was born with major organs outside the body defects. Couldn't survive post birth.

Just a couple months ago they had a healthy girl.

This thread is so bittersweet. But I admire and love how we NSMB'ers help lift each other up.
'mil, keep doing what you are doing. Be there for the lady and take care of yourself too. You will have that wee one one day man. It will happen.
biggles, I'm stoked to hear that you're all done  for you mate!

There's five years between my two sons. In that 5 yr span we had a couple of miscarriages. I've been there. It's hard. Take the time to grieve properly.

There was something on CBC a few weeks back about how miscarriages don't get talked about as much as they should and just how common they were. I forget the statistics for how many pregnancies end in miscarriages but it was something like 20-30%. Way more common than you would think.

my kids were supposed to be 2.5 years apart, they ended up being 3.5 years apart since i miscarried in between. it's supposed to be nature's way of aborting fetuses that have issues. traumatic - yes. but my 2nd boy was (is) just as healthy as the first one so it all came out right in the end.

take time to grieve, and then try again. best of luck (and have fun, lol)

Like Lady G implied the one silver lining to be taken from all this is the act of making babies is hardly a chore.

I'm so torn on the issue. On one hand I think I would be a pretty awesome dad but on the other hand I have no confidence in the future of the planet and we're overpopulated as it is.

The selfish side of me wants at least one but the logical side of me says don't reproduce.
