I lifted my jetta

My friend lifted his Suzuki SX4 a couple inches and wants to know what size of wheels he should get.

idiots are those that think their cars can do anything they want, like be a 4x4.

trucks deserve lifts and all terrain tires

cars deserve tuning and handling

Wrong. Get buddy there to let you blast that soob up diamondhead or squamish valley a few times and you'll see.

(Of course the engine and driveline need some upgrades as well to make it worthwhile)

That's really awesome man.
I may follow your lead with my STi. The roads around here are far too loose to have KW V3 and low pro tires.

it's almost impossible not too with lowering springs, most of them bind and over time snap.

That's a lot more common with a poorly planned setup. Spring bind is a bad thing, and at least in the Subaru world, spring companies have made changes. For example, the Racecomp yellow springs were a great option for us AWD guys, but they found that the coils would bind causing a severe increase in spring rate. The second generation came out and took care of the bind issue with proper spring spacing and rates more in tune with what the springs were meant for.

But I've seen my share of busted springs. The best one was while working on my buddie's CRV recently. He has a wierd noise while turning, and we found that he broke off the first coil of his OEM spring.

We had to fix that.

Put some real sway bars on it. On my old Civic, I went with a a 25mm front and 20mm rear. So much fun

Werd!
With better tires and a proper alignment, you can increase the rear stiffness for some tail out fun. It's more fun on the autoX course than highway 1 though.
:rawr:

I have some ST coilovers ready to go into my VW this weekend. They are made by KW but half the price. 4 year warranty and under a grand. Worth checking out.

Nice!
I'd take a set of those over any Megan racing crap anyday. KW makes good parts, and even their cost effective models are pretty sweet.

Oh I agree hypa they shouldn't bind, but most drop springs do just to poor design, you have to take that drop out somewhere.

I wish GOOD coilovers where cheaper for my cobalt but since they are 2g's I went the easy route with springs and shocks.

Clunking is for retards.

Yes, I ordered from HPA. It is hard to find their review threads because most forums don't allow two letter searches and so the threads, unless stickied, can be difficult to dig up (even through google).

How many miles are on your mk4 now?
