I have a 12ft x 20 ft area in my basement where I want to put down rubber mat. Any suggestions for something that isn't going to break the bank?
rubber floor mats
Building a dungeon? ;)
This is something that interests me too, I need a better floor cover in my workshop.
recycled tire mats - like they use in ice rinks. only issue is they stink a bit, not sure if you want that in your house. thye'd be great for a workshop tho.
how durable do you need it to be and does it have to be rubber?
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

you want the factory seconds if you want to keep it affordable.
the horse matting or if you want thinner get the runner matting.
I don't think it will be cheap. I actually need to call them myself and price out some for my workshop that is slooowwwlly in progress.
is it for your baby or just general acrobatics? Get the interlocking foam squares my bud has his tile floor covered since he had a baby and it is holding up well after about 6 months….
i may be way off base.
Real rubber is big money. If i had a shop/money i would use truck bed liner with a little sand added.

about 6yrs ago i ordered a 250ft roll of 4ft wide runner, non-ribbed, for the community centre - cost about $600. probably more these days.

non-ribbed is always cheaper no?
it really depends on what type of product you want. I've purchased 2 types of rubber matting in the last 4-5 years and both were fairly pricey. I'd have to talk to my accountant to get exact pricing, but it wasn't cheap. I think a 12x12 room was around $400 and that was for interlocking 1/4" rubber matting. I also bought some 4'x8' 1/4" for the workshop and I think it was $160.
hallway runner will likely be the cheapest option, but it is not a product I would use for my workshop or exercise room.

the non-ribbed was a thicker product - 3/16" - and rubber. the ribbed runners are typically vinyl and hence much cheaper. the ribbed stuff is useless for anything more than a hallway tho as the ends always curl up.

Do you honestly think you can ask this without explaining what kind of twisted S[HTML_REMOVED]M cellar you are building?

The better question is: will the rubber be ribbed, for his pleasure?
This space intentionally left blank.
It's for a workshop.
I have this in my workshop. I guess you would need to buy 2 for your workshop but the price is reasonable
