30 trails closed on Seymour. Why would anyone even think twice about moving somewhere else?

rfoubi painted the picture Mark, you only need to hang on for the full pension if your cost of living is high.

Around here, it isn't.

And 10 minutes away in Midway there is actually a trail system next to the Kettle River. You can ride up the mountain and into the US!

There are glorious cinnamon buns to be had in Greenwood. I buy at least 2 every time I pass through.

So after sitting on my ass for the past 2mths with injuries ,and watching our savings get rapped from the never ending mortgage payments and cost of living expenses , we are looking at leaving the Fraser Valley area .

Lots of my friends are screaming head to Kamloops area , but from looking at goggle maps it,s looks way to desertish to me . I have looked a bit around Golden with goggle and plan to check the area out this summer and hopefully hit the enduro race in that town as well to check out the riding .

Rossland and the likes looks interesting as well .

We are still a year or 2 away from pulling the plug with the daughter just finishing up HS and such . put if we find a area we like and can get the type of land we want ( 5 to 10 acres ) it could happen sooner .

Also any areas out side the Fraser Valley that have similar weather in the winter , as in snow , but not 6mths of snow LOL .

Golden has some pretty sweet riding up on mt 7. bike park up at kicking horse which i havent ridden but heard average reviews. Revy and Rogers pass not far away. Personally I would choose revy over golden but thats just me. Lots of snow though. Great sled accessible terrain a very short drive from town, rogers pass for ski touring.

one comment i overheard one day while in castlegar resonated. the jist was don't move to a place and start trying to change things so they match what they were back home. sit back and take it all in before spouting off about how locals should act, city council should act, etc…
