Long time member, although most of my activity recently has been creeping.
If this type of post is a faux pa I will happily delete it (or suspect it will be deleted for me).

Whenever I head home for holidays my buddies and I will get together to play the best board game ever - RISK. After a few sodas and the thought of rolling the dice hundreds of times near the end of the game just got to be too much - so I created my first iOS app and today it was released on the app store!
It lets you roll virtual dice, or do automated rolling where you enter the number of attacking and defending units and the app will simulate the battle (you to watch the units deplete in real time so you can pull out if the attackers are taking a beating).

If anyone is interested I would love the support of downloads! And if this is inappropriate for me to use the boards like this I apologize and please delete this thread.

If this thread can live and anyone wants feature enhancements let me know here!

(I deleted my own URL after reading the sticky about on-board spamming. Mods if you are cool with it I'd love to put the URL up and get feedback for further improve my app, but if you don't think this is OK then I will leave the URL out and this thread will fade into oblivion)

EDIT: URL of app: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/risk-rolled/id507949762?ls=1[HTML_REMOVED]mt=8

There's been a RISK game on itunes forever. But good luck, hopefully you didn't actually name it RISK, or the trademark police are going to show up in a black van.

It's not the risk game - but rather the dice. It also is a 'battle simulator' so that if you have to huge armies fighting each other you don't have to roll hundreds of times (but it still shows you the progress of the battle in real-time so you can pull out).

Link can be found here- would love feedback!

I was thinking that it was just the game too, and I prefer to play on the board. This is actually pretty cool.

One question though, why does it reek of Canadian patriotism? Not that I would mind?

Maybe he could write an app to teach you how to whip.

No more lost dice!

by Chris Gilpin

Love this app - no more lost dice (unless you lose you phone/pad, but then you have bigger worries) and the battle simulator really speeds up those huge battles at the end of the game.
Great work!

If I don't believe in the benefit of the app - it shouldn't be up there! Why not give it a good review!
