Why can't counterpunch dole out well-deserved criticism on the American use of force for their national interests without simultaneously revising history to make every nasty regime they go up against sound like Mr. Rogers? It's pathological.
Yes, Libya has fallen into disarray much like Iraq, but Gaddafi was also a ruthless psychopath, not some benign leader with liberal ideals. He pulled girls from school and systematically raped them. He would execute his opponents and keep their bodies in freezers so he could visit them from time to time.

The west heard of Kaddafi & the rest of OPEC's plan to make them pay for oil with gold instead of cash. The west knew they did not have the gold to back up their cash (still don't), so Kaddafi had to go. Drop in the CIA to foment a "revolution" & make it look like the locals got angry & killed him. Now the west can rape another country for their resources.
Yep. Ad to that the yanki dogs were bribing African leaders to build military bases in their countries but were being stymied by Gahdafi bribing said leaders more not to.

The CIA (and MI6) led a coup d'etat against Iran's leader Mohammad Mosaddegh in 1953. Mosaddegh had nationalized Iran's oil industry similar to what Chavez did in Venezuela. Well there goes the big oil company's profits, so they had him taken down.
They did the same thing with Chile's Salvador Allende & had the (USA's puppet) Pinochet installed as leader. Some say Allende killed himself, others say he was assassinated by the CIA.

That article is from 8 years ago and follows the typical pattern of apologizing for a psychopath. Here is some news from 6 days ago. There are plenty of first-hand accounts.
And these articles are only about the systematic use of rape in war, not his own raping. Feel free to read the Haaretz article I posted or the documentary about his rape rooms and how when he found a girl he wanted to rape he would pat her on the head as a signal and then she would be taken, screened for STDs and then delivered to him. He was fucking disgusting and CP would write about it gladly if he was an American.
