RIP :( very sad news, just heard a moment ago. Coincidentally, I've had Paul's Boutique on heavy rotation the last few days. Daaaammmnnnn.
IMO, the best Beasties album.
RIP MCA
Ill Communication was the first tape that I bought with my own money as a kid. So much good music that his memory will live on forever.
Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.
they also call me "balloon"
Feels like I've lost a friend.
Well said.
This is our generation's Lennon.
Also, fuck cancer.
:crybaby:
Saw them live in 1998 and was blown away. How is MCA dead and Keith Richards still alive?
IMO, the best Beasties album.
RIP MCA
without a doubt

Crap, I almost teared up when I heard. I guess when you've been digging a band for over 20 years that's understandable. RIP MCA!

well, the guy sure lived a good and meaningful life while he had it, that should be a little comforting anyways.
Ha Ha! Made you look.
Went to 3 of their concerts over the years [HTML_REMOVED] also seen that movie that appeared in the theaters for only one night (I think it was called "Awesome; I *ucking shot that"). RIP, MCA, may you continue to bust rhymes in the afterlife.

The news pretty much shocked me. I knew he was ill, did not know it was cancer tho. "Back in the days" their music was pretty much influencing me and my "boys", we did not like gangster rap apart from the early NWA stuff, and loved the East Coast sound of the Beastie Boys, Third Bass, and some others. Not to forget Gangstarr.
Having some b-boying sessions and sketching/legal writing sessions to their albums "Check your head" and "Ill communication" was the blast.
