I don't usually do this sort of thing but Carson's funeral was today. Listening to his father's words on CBC this afternoon really hit me hard. While Carson was suffering in obvious medical distress, other kids stood around watching, laughing and making vids to post on social media. I not only cried for Carson and his family, but at the thought of these other kids who have become so detached from humanity that they were more focused on making fun on Carson and earning likes and street cred than helping him out. As a society we have to do better, we have to teach our kids to be strong and that strength is standing up to adversity even more so if it means you have to put up with abuse from someone else.
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.
