RIH....Maggie Thatcher
looks like the socialists really hated her….
tungsten hated her = tungsten Socialist
you really and truly are the leading moonbat on NSMB tungsten :)
Anyone who deals a blow to the unions, especially the UMW, is alright in my books. RIP Lady Thatcher.
I'm so glad that we can agree on some things. I think we can add ablating an infected ingrown toe nail with silver nitrate to that list of things we like more than Tungsten.
So you like slave labor for peanuts [HTML_REMOVED] not knowing if you still have a job from day to day? If you like your weekends, thank the unions for that. If you like safety standards, thank the unions for that. If you like the fact that you can refuse to do unsafe work, thank the unions. If you like the 40 hour work week, thank the unions. They are responsible for all those things.

The joy of the Internet. Barely dead and not even buried. And the Trolls come out to bitch about someone's life they never actually met.

As someone who works in a union shop, I find this post hilarious.

His post accurately reflects the rights I enjoy in my union shop.
If your union isn't protecting you properly then why don't you run for boss and then kick some mofo owners ass?

Because I don't have to hide behind my contract nor do I feel the need to "kick some mofo owners ass".
They have a business model and are in business to make a profit. As long as they're fair to me, i'll stick around.
Unions once had a place in Canada, but that time has passed. They are now a hindrance to most industries and only stand in the way of progress and innovation. Companies don't go offshore for shits and giggles, they do it because the operating costs of menial labour are too high.
I respect the past efforts of unions and the standards that they helped set in forming provincial and federal labour laws (which are all covered in the post I'm still chuckling about) but are now a toothless menace harming Canadian industry, and meddling in politics instead of serving their members.

Dude! She took milk from kids!
During her first months in office she attracted public attention as a result of the administration's attempts to cut spending. She imposed public expenditure cuts on the state education system, resulting in the abolition of free milk for schoolchildren aged seven to eleven. She held that few children would suffer if schools were charged for milk, but she agreed to provide younger children with a third of a pint daily, for nutritional purposes.
But THIS sums it all up perfectly:
When she left government, Thatcher became a "geopolitical consultant" for the tobacco company Philip Morris.
"May a commune of gay, Marxist Muslim illegal immigrants use your tax dollars to open a drive-thru abortion clinic in your church."

I agree, who doesn't like slave labour for minimum wage, god forbid they would train you in a red seal for your work.
God forbid you take some personal responsibility and get yourself the red seal.
That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.
I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.

A very long read, but well worth it for those that really want to learn some solid history -[HTML_REMOVED] http://www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/tom-mills/death-of-class-warrior-margaret-thatcher-1925-2013
I'm struck by how many paragraphs I could substitute "Stephen Harper" for "Margaret Thatcher" and they'd still make sense.
"In 2002, having suffered a series of minor strokes, Thatcher was ordered by doctors to refrain from any public speaking and in the years that followed her health further deteriorated. Her loss of physical and mental capacity was made the focus of the curiously apolitical biopic The Iron Lady. The film was criticised by the Tory right, who preferred to remember Thatcher at her most potent and combative. In a sense they are right. That too, I think, is how we should remember her. Not for what she became once her faculties failed her, but for what she was at the height of her power: an advocate of inequality, a friend to dictators and arms dealers, a champion of power and privilege and a scourge of the poor and vulnerable. A true blue class warrior. "

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.
When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.
I have no stake in this what so ever, but I have a few friends who grew up during the thatcher era in Briton. not too many of them are saying nice things on facebook about her. this one was is the least hateful. dare I quote a quote!
Ken Loach
"Margaret Thatcher was the most divisive and destructive Prime Minister of modern times.Mass Unemployment, factory closures, communities destroyed this is her legacy. She was a fighter and her enemy was the British working class. Her victories were aided by the politically corrupt leaders of the Labour Party and of many Trades Unions. It is because of policies begun by her that we are in this mess today.
Other prime ministers have followed her path, notably Tony Blair. She was the organ grinder, he was the monkey.
Remember she called Mandela a terrorist and took tea with the torturer and murderer Pinochet.
How should we honor her? Lets privatize her funeral. Put it out to competitive tender and accept the cheapest bid. Its what she would have wanted.
Just a speculative fiction. No cause for alarm.

Heads of unions and heads of industry are the same side of the coin.
