religious people at the door...

Around here they always seem to have young kids doing their spiel likely to try and discourage people from swearing at them.  I either ignore them and they eventually go away, or give them a firm quick no and shut the door.

They stand on street corners and near bus stops in Nanaimo. I don't respond.

My dad tells this story of how they came to his door years ago and never came back. He was  drinking at home with his brother & his brother's wife. (This is back in the mid 50's, so long time ago.) All 3 of them got tanked & fell asleep. Well there was only 1 bed as Dad was single at the time, so they all flopped on the only bed. Dad says there was nothing sexual about it, in those days people never thought like that. Well the JW's knocked on the door early the next morning. My uncle answered the door & the JW asked "Is the home owner available?" My uncle replied "No, he's in bed with my wife." The JW person turned around & left in a hurry. My Dad lived at that place until 1993 & they never came back once, that we know of. I suggest using that line to get rid of them.

A friend of mine's Dad was an Anglican Bishop with a PhD in theology, and he'd happily invite in anyone that came knocking on the door to talk religion. They'd usually tap out after about an hour of having whatever they were promoting dissected by him.

I just tell them I know an infirm old fart that probably needs a bath and his diaper changed, and give them your address

I know of one case where the guy quit his job to promote the JW religion. They must feel strongly about it to do something like that.

At your front door, draw a chalk outline of person.  Put some ketchup splots around it, and leave a ketchup soaked copy of the Watchtower next to the outline.

Come to the door buck naked pulling your horn and yell at them, "I'M BUSY" and slam the door.

Seems like telus was the new JW for a while in my hood. Yes I know you've got fiber optic cable, fuck off. It was once a week for about 2 months, always different people, all saying they wouldn't return.

Sometimes I see them in my area over here in Europe, and the sidekicks are really gorgeous at times....but the baggage is just too much. I could imagine a date could go in two very different directions.
