all great, me too
why won't anyone answer my question though?????
anyone successfully getting PUSH notifications of new emails on their iphone using gmail through the mail app?
Since I'm a big fan of your videos…
On your iPhone, delete your gmail account via settings. Now create the account again, but this time create it as an Exchange Server and not GMail account. For your user name, use your full email address, and then enter your password. Call it "GMail" (or whatever, but that's what I'll use here). It's going to prompt you for a server name. Enter "m.google.com"
Go into settings-[HTML_REMOVED]mail-[HTML_REMOVED]fetch new data, and turn on push. Then scroll down and select advanced, and in that screen select your account (GMail) and then select "push" for the schedule selection.
Go to settings-[HTML_REMOVED]notifications and turn them on.
Go to settings-[HTML_REMOVED]mail-[HTML_REMOVED]Gmail and select what you want synced (mail, contacts, calendars), as well as number of days to sync and what folders to push.
If you use Google calendar and selected the sync of calendar for GMail, you should get a pop-up about an upcoming appointment.
