It is not the norm to walk down the street half naked, why should a parade make it okay to do so?

If you use that logic, then no parade should ever be allowed since it's not okay to march down the middle of the street normally.

Not really, b/c that'd mean it'd cost the taxpayer just a little bit more money. Whether a Corporation is gay or even trangendered, I dont care if they support "the cause". I do see and almost even agree that for a family event, the attire or lack thereof, is off base.

Since when does anyone go topless in Vancouver (besides that old chick on the bike in Ridge). I dont care if guys are in thongs on a beach but why is it ok once a year? Why do have to accept it or be labelled a typical north american with conservative tight wad views?

And is this how they want us to view them? Or are you going to argue that this is some artistic expression and its open to interpratation ?

Which brings me back to the first point I made. North Americans are afraid of nudity.

This board is full of testosterone laden mountain bikers. This most popular thread is about boobs, and it contains a lot of nudity.

So lol at peeps complaining about flamboyancy in a gay pride parade.

How often do you see topless men/women in the downtown core of Paris, Berlin, Rome, London, Tokyo etc. etc. during the middle of the day?

Actually, not that unusual in city parks.

Isnt the parade down in the vancover westend where there is NOT a big Fam scene of any kind SO a family would have to make an effort to get everybody fed/dressed/into the mini vand drive/ all the way down town thru stupid traffic burning excessive fossil fuels, to see a few people dress weird and corporations trying to cash in on all the weirdness ?

Instead we could just watch MMA or WWF on the cable TV while eating our cheerios where people beat the poo out of each other for money which is ok

but its not ok for people to just walk around unclothed or in really unusual clothing in their own neighborhood

SO what kind of massage is that sending to out kids kids ?

IMO …whatever blows yer dress up

How about if you don't want your kids seeing some half naked men or women, don't take them to the pride parade.

There are better things to get uptight about people.

Exactly. It's a free country, no one is forcing you to attend the parade. If it bothers you, then just don't go. People need to grow up.

Is there really a lot of people who take their kids to the pride parade?

I would think a gay pride parade would be kinda like when a person stumbles across some hardcore porn.

Mentally block out the dudes and focus on the girl on girl action!

I may not be a fan of the parade itself, but no fiving way am I going to get I the way of the glbt community's right to showcase who they are. It's pretty cool when you consider that we live in a city where this is acceptable. You don't get away with pride parades in downtown Prince George.

There actually was a well attended pride parade in pg a few weeks ago.

Nice stereotype though!
