Remember:

Matter. How tiny your share of it. Time. How brief and fleeting your allotment of it. Fate. How small a role you play in it.

The Stoics are really something special, the only thing that one must take care of is empathy - Stoicism is often interpreted as "cold"or emotionally empty. The Stoics have helped me through quite some challenging times the last 5 years.

Keep challenging myself as often as possible. Small steps, chipping away, step by step - challenges do not have to be big adventures or scary things. Feels good and keeps me sane, knowing that I can.

Didn't Groucho also say "I would never join a club that would have me as a member"?

Confusing for sure.  That is why I will never be a Marxist.

Much better to be a Stoogist. I mean, how can you possibly dislike quotes like "I'm trying to think, but nothing happens"?

I may be a Stoogist and just never knew.  I did sport a t-shirt in high school that said "Just Say Moe".

Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.

It is unwise to be too sure of ones own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest may err

-Gandhi

Speak as little as possible about yourself . Keep busy with your own affairs and not those of others. Avoid curiosity. Do not interfere in the affairs of others. Accept small irritations with good humour. Do not dwell on the faults of others. Accept censures even if unmerited. Give to the will of others. Accept insults and injuries. Accept contempt being forgotten and disregarded. Be courteous and delicate even when provoked by someone. Do not seek to be admired and loved. Do not protect yourself behind your own dignity. Give in, in discussions, even if you are right. Chose always the more difficult task.-Mother Teresa.

Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping them up.- Jesse Jackson

Humility is not thinking less of yourself it’s thinking of yourself less. -C.S. Lewis

Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real. Thomas Merton

The proud man can learn humility, but he will be proud of it. Mignon McLaughlin

Selflessness is humility. Humility and freedom go hand in hand. Only a humble person can be free. -Jeff Wilson.
