I left Calgary yesterday (thank god) and people there are pretty wound up about gas going up to 123.9/l. When I moved there a year ago, it was 92.9/l.

Funny how people willingly pay $2 for a liter of water at Safeway without complaint. Something no better than the water they can get for free at the tap.

Yet paying $1.4 for a liter of gas is a terrible thing.

If price of gas was set to include not only the cost of extracting, refining and delivering the fuel, but also the cost of cleaning up the horrible mess left behind by these activies and the cost of recovering the mess spewed into the air by your exhaust, then you couldn't afford a tank of gas.

Kn.

The sooner we get rid of all the gas, the sooner we can move onto greener pastures. Gas is controlled by the price of oil. Making 0.02 cents on each Galon? I don't fucking think so.

Clunking is for retards.

ok buddy. I am in the industry so I know how things work. Keep thinking that. Ignorance is bliss.

Just because you work in the "industry" doesn't mean you are right. The numbers you gave don't add up. For Exxon in 2010 the gross profit was 50% of revenue. Now that is interesting. Tells me that accountants are really creative………..
