I've been through this area before, for tooling about and scuba diving.
Shitty to hear about people in the area dying and the area getting thrashed.

That was very very scary.I live on Mactan Cebu, was in bed when it hit. First quake for me so it took a few seconds to register before I headed for the street from our second story.
It lasted over a minute and was still disoriented after and just shocked really. House is fine but many older structures have damage. I have a lot more faith in this concrete house now.
The aftershocks continue and our nerves are fried.

When I heard it on the local radio, I straight away thought "Fuck…hope Bushman is ok.".

Glad to read that you are not really hit that hard unlike many others.

Not even a scratch?

Nope not even a broken glass…i really cant believe it considering how violent it was even though we are 21 miles from epicenter. It would seem our house is built really well. Many houses have cracks where wall meets floor. The columns and beams are structural and filled in with hollow block between the columns. Epicenter is a mess and still no contact from many.

It's not just the earthquake, check out this photo gallery from Zamboanga City (at the far southern end of .PH):

I have and will always stay away from that place to the south, its had travel warnings for ever. Its a large island and most of the crazy stuff including kidnapping is too the deep south. I have been to Davao many times, the mayor has a hit squad that offs criminals so its a nice clean city :D
