Sounds like Ottawa will be matching donations until dec 8.

Please donate to the following registered charities between November 9 to December 8, 2013 to ensure that every dollar that you donate is matched by the Canadian federal government:

Anyone know which organization will get the money/supplies there, in a reasonable time, and get them distributed to the people? After Haiti, I'm a bit skeptical about donations to a lot of organizations.

I have no idea who will be the quickest at getting our dollars hitting the ground in PH…but your local Phil-Can association is a good bet. There is NO other group of immigrants in Canada that are as caring and as involved in giving back to the Families/Country they left behind to get here into Canada.

Glad to hear you are ok, Bushman…I have heard on the Radio this morning that Europe is sending aid in various forms.

Terrible. As grim as that sounds though, so [HTML_REMOVED] so from another forum posted this…..

"I live in Cebu and luckily not too much damage although my power and phone lines were out for 24+ hours.
A number of vessels in the Mactan Channel were moored alongside at the start and still alongside when the typhoon had passed."

Keep your fingers x'ed……….

This is true for Cebu City…Not for north tip of Cebu Island….i think it is even smaller than Vancouver Island…tons of little satellite islands and they all have people on them.
No boots on the ground in these places.

Posting vids info and links on my G+

Thanks everybody

According to CBC news, NDHQ has a recce team on the ground in the Philippines. And DART is on alert to move.

most aid will go to the place that is most covered on the news….and places important to politicians here….north Cebu Island will just have to suck it up for a while.
Bogo, Malapasqua, Bantayan ect.
