Teaching is fucking hard.

So is being a stay at home parent. I would say harder.

Maybe this time. However the last strike the BCTF did effect students getting enrolled in Uni after graduating grade 12. I knew 2 of them who had that stress.

And I on't even touch the rest of your commentary. Had enough BS because of being the stay at home from Teachers.

i "think" you are incorrect there too, but i aren't we discussing the current strike, not historical? i'm truly not meaning to be snarky, but i have no idea what you are trying to say in your second statement.

As are many jobs or professions. What is forgotten, is that teachers became teachers by choice, not because they were told by a central planning authority that that was to be their job.

Choice.

It is not forgotten, it is irrelevant. This is a free country where we can choose our profession and choose to negotiate our contracts.

Freedom.

It is very relevant. You don't choose a "hard" career and then spend your life whining about how hard it is so you need to be paid more. At least not if you want to be taken seriously.

Spending the rest of their lives whining about how hard their job is? Even if this was true and teachers all did this it would not be relevant, but since it is not actually true it is less than not relevant.

Honestly though I've worked with people that bid on a job, win the bid, and then whine about the work the whole time (sometimes this whole process happens inside of a week). Thankfully they don't get to go on strike though.

But yes I agree. Especially true for anyone that's been in the job less than 10 years, they should have known what they were getting into.

Nice straw man argument. Teachers are not complaining about "how hard the work is". Go back and do your homework.

i'll give you credit that you've made one or two valid points over the course of this thread but your ignorance is amusing in the guise of tryng to play an informed game.

you should just come right out and say you hate unions and teachers and be done with it as opposed to feigning actually caring about the situation at hand and the topic in a more broad sense.

ps - same goes for you Kevin_m31

The worst thing about these BB software apps is that you can't put moderators on ignore.

When you get a clown with feelings of superiority, you're stuck.

You can go ahead and ban me now, since I can't just put you on ignore.

i'm not going to ban you, but maybe come up with some sort of real argument instead of just posting nonsense that you've pulled from who knows where. seriously, what you're saying is so out to lunch it's laughable. bring something reasonable to the table and people will respond with reasoned discourse.

edit - what you're saying is insulting to thousands of teachers who care far more about the education of the children in this province that you do.

Should we maximize profits selling high margin items to children in school cafeterias?

Oh totally. And school districts should be free to enter into Draconian contracts that penalize the district financially if sales don't meet prescribed quotas. It's only reasonable in a free market economy. All hail the INVISIBLE HAND!!!

Most definitely, but then again you're only making sense.

Another demand: salary scale decreased from 10 years to 8 years. That will cost some money.
