Church isn't a bad place. My church does a LOT of community service work; I think that's great. They started the first food bank in the Lower mainland I believe. They serve a free meal to anyone who wants it, every week. That kinda stuff is more religious than any of these sunday sermons they have, so I support it.

ya fuck you windows. fuck you too door.
my parents are rather open to it, i just tell them how i feel. i am religious, and believe in God, but sometimes church just confuses me a lot more, when i need to look at things that are going on in my life. they're pretty good, my sister makes me go tho  :(
I ahve string convictins in christ but I don't feel I need to go to church, I can be with God and not go to church every Sunday morning.

SEVEN STRAIGHT SUCKA!
You should join that Kamikazi guy's bike church. Problem solved:)
"And i don't, but god's up there, i know that."
How do you know that?
"if somone said that 2 me i would be like "heres a spoon, eat my butt,"
That's funny!!! Can I use that one some time?
You guys are getting me started on my favourite topic: RELIGION (and the bashing of it).
I want to know why it is when I hear that a kid survived a house fire, that it was a miracle. "God was watching out for me". Why do people believe in this devine intervention, when it just chance?
Why do you religious folk believe in a god?
What does it do for you?
Why is there a need to have it in your lives?
How do you know god exists?
Do you believe in creation or evolution? Why?
Please answer honestly. Thanks.
lesbiens, and I don't mean the good kind.
The best thing to tell your parents is that they should give you both sides of the arguement and let you decide for yourself after weighing both sides. Tell them that Christianity was founded on being open minded to others and their beliefs. Jesus was the founder and probably would want the best for you. Your parents are following the customs of middle-age Europeon religious leaders who forced people to practice christianity. A tradition that is dying out thankfully. If they do not agree with that tell them they are hypocrits for being christians. Tell them that. Tell them that thier beliefs have nothing to do with your beliefs - you are a separate person from them. And if they are forcing thier beliefs upon you then you will be more likely to hate the idea of going to church and believing in god.
My parents did not belive in god and it was great for me. I grew up not understanding why people were that gullable to fashion their lives around a mythical creature who tells you how to live your lives.

BUT, people who celebrate Christmas are celebrating the birth of Christ, the saviour. Anyway, technically if you are to celebrate Christmas then you should be celebrating the birth of Christ instead of all the coo presents you are getting, this is why this holiday was started. So often, many Catholics can be offended by people who choose to take Christmas in such a light fashion and see it only as a time to see family and exchanges gifts
This is why I love Santa Claus soo much - he is the splinter in the eye of the Christian god. He diverts attention from the bitrhday of Christ by giving gifts to children (always win the hearts of the children first). Figure it out - "Santa Claus" is just an anagram for "Satan Lucas" - the Light of Satan. :devil:Hail Santa!!

GrimniR that was so funny.

i dont get why ppl pride bashing religion of any kind in general. is it that hard to keep an open mind on things? does bashing things that you dont believe in make you feel like you rule the world? does it make you feel more rebellious to not only not believe in religion, but make it known to the whole world that x religion is stupid or y religion is retarded?
i dont give 2 shits if you dont follow a religion, good on you. but its honestly not that hard to adopt "if you got nothing good to say, dont say it at all"
church is not all that bad, sacraficing a measly 1 hour s week to go to church is not a waste of time and besides a being part of a church can be good because the people are really nice, they care for you, and help you i.e: my Mom can be short on money and they'll know this and they'll give you like $100 just out of the goodness of their heart! I can't believe it but God really looks after us if you follow him with you heart! anyways that's my point of view
"Fullness of knowledge always means some understanding of the depths of our ignorance; and that is always conducive to humility and reverence." - Robert Millikan
Well, it's kinda like all the USA bashing that goes on here - US foriegn policy tends to be on the strong-arm side most of the time, but is the US really the Evil Empire oppressing the poor third-world Islamic extremist like a lot of you make it out to be? If you're a gung-ho patriotic American you probably think the US can do no wrong. If you're a naive Cannuck who listens to too much Rage Against the Machine, you probably think the US can do no right. It's the same with organised religeon. Bible-thumping church going Christians think the Church is the one source of light and good in the world. They don't (or refuse to) realise that the Church has been directly responsable for countless wars and a great deal of the human suffering that goes on in the world, not to mention all the indigenous cultures that were destroyed while "preaching the Word". It's truely funny when people criticise others for not "understanding" the Christian faith, when they don't totally understand it themselves. I don't bash Christianity, but I don't agree with most of it's philosophy either. As I see it, Christianity is a guilt-based religeon which glorifies the herd and incourages weakness and dependancy. On the other hand these same disgusting traits can be found in society in general. Anyway - I gotta get to bed. Soon the Evil Red Prince from the North will appear in the midnight sky with nine horned beasts pulling his slay. Happy Hellidays and  Hail Santa!!
Life is uncertain, death is not.
If I was your parents I wouldn't force you to be christian. But if you decided not to be I wouldn't be giving u any x-mas gifts.

way to go smart guy.
sounds like you've got it all figured out, i wish i had half the insight that you do  im sure if religion didnt exist, the world would have no problems and we'd all be gung ho. blaming the worlds problems on religion is ignorant
