Other options to fender rolling ?

It would appear that I have to roll the rear fenders on the auto since after some sport springs were installed; there's minor rubbage. Oddly, it mainly rubs on the right rear which is where some recent body work was done as well so before I do anything, I may get the frame checked.

Anyways, after finding one shop that'd roll both rear fenders for about $250, then there's the fact that if the paint cracks because of it, I also get to pay for the paint so I can add another possible $300.

From my expert vision, I doubt it actually needs to be rolled. The innder fenders themselves have a small L of sheet metal protruding into the wheel well - I'm thinking that could be pinched somehow and voila but before I go and totally crease my car, I'd like some other options presented.

Could you shim the struts like they do on levelling kits for pickups?

Can you trim the metal protruding into the wheelwell without cutting through or into any spotwelds for the panel? I had to do that once and as long as you don't get crazy it worked out just fine.

You could do it old school.

Check Youtube, I'm sure there are videos of people doing it.

if its for a car, bust out the ball peen and hammer that shit back. If it's the actual fender then a fender roller is cheap to rent. The secret is using a heat gun to soften the paint not to crack it..

I've rolled many a honda civic fenders with a bat and heat gun without having to touch the paint.

Clunking is for retards.

the price seams high. as mentioned, you can probably rent one a lot cheaper. i am on a few VW forums and many members own one and lend it out.
