There's a lot to like about May and the Green party. If only she didn't undermine her 'science cred' with unsupported claptrap like here comments about wifi.

Yeah, this was really, really bad. Especially considering Smart Meters could be used to make us Greener.

Hmm - I see that we basically said the same thing, but I think even discussing how a different party (who hasn't been in power before) would / could screw up the country doesn't really make sense. The ADM's (Assistant Deputy Ministers) won't change, and it takes a couple of terms for a Government to pass enough laws to really begin to change things (A La the conservatives).

Bring on the Green majority government!

well ken's beat me to it, but there's been some weird comments to come out of the greenw. the single biggest hurdle though is their public image; far too many people see them as a bunch of enviro loving hippies with no real economic know-how that will damage our economy with strict enviro regs. until they change their image a bit or the way they present it they won't make a dent in swaying voters at all.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Measles outbreak at - get this - Christian School, Carver High.

Why the Lord would visit a plague on them is anybody's guess. He works in mysterious ways. Pray for vaccinations.

Hopefully Salami, Coolidge and the rest of the ballers are OK and the bball team won't be on quarantine for the upcoming Provincials.

well fuck….if the goddam fuckin media would let her actually participate in some of the live debtaes then we might actually get the chance to see this …. but hell no.

Of course, adding another legitimate party to the left spectrum is music to Harper's ears….im surprised he doesnt lobby for her to come on board…unless he thinks she's going to do such a crappy job as to actually push votes away from the green party…

I'm ignoring Smedley.

"A news story this week blandly described the perverse reality that is the current state of the Canadian economy. The headline read [HTML_REMOVED]#8220;Corporate profit margins at 27-year high and likely to stay there.[HTML_REMOVED]#8221; Pretty heady stuff if you took it out of context. But the context is everything: pathetic growth projections, record high personal debt, stagnating wages, hundreds of billions in idle corporate cash, a multi-billion dollar infrastructure deficit, a growing real estate bubble and a Bank of Canada chief who has no idea how to fix things. And, of course, a prime minister who thinks fixing things is heretical."

Mike Duffy's trial starts tomorrow; will be interesting to see how that plays out and who knew what. Some more people under the bus.

I really hope this trial pulls out the really dirty laundry from Harper's hamper for all to see. Even the press that normally comes out in support of Conservatives is on the attack.

Too long for copy/paste, but this is poignant;

More serious for the Conservatives is that the Senate scandal might reopen the vault on the larger abuse-of-power narrative that has dogged the Harper government. It may be seen as a microcosm of the serial breaches of the public trust: the undercover dirty tricks, the smear campaigns against opponents, the altering of official documents, the democracy-shredding omnibus bills.

If you wanted to go into detail, you could fill an entire page of news print with the ethical transgressions of this government that have undermined the democratic process.

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

Supportive of? The globe officially backed the Liberals in the last election.

Meanwhile in Canada's investments, we lost 3.5 billion in the GM deal. Great fiscal management…. where did they hire their fund guy? MBA from the University of Phoenix?
