From the Ottawa Citizen:

a strong, steady, able hand on the tiller navigating the stormy seas of our fragile economic recovery! Let me be perfectly clear, Steven Harper is in way over his head.

Don't forget the 3 huge bitchslaps from the courts in the past 2 days as well…worst PM ever.

this article is also pretty good http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/03/21/the-trudeau-complex-how-harpers-attacks-on-liberal-dynasty-could-be-a-double-edged-sword/ talks about how harper's obsession with the Trudeaus could be his downfall….

The article was published in the National Post Oct. 5, 2000 — two days after the funeral.

To this day, it provides a rare glimpse into the inner soul of Stephen Harper, starkly revealing his contempt for Pierre Trudeau.

Now, almost 14 years after Trudeau’s death, Harper is preparing to face off in the 2015 election against the first-born son of the man he so despised.

That looming showdown — already foreshadowed in attack ads and derisive comments portraying Justin Trudeau as flaky — raises questions about Harper’s instincts and behaviour. Is his political judgment being coloured by his deep dislike of the Trudeaus? Or is it immaterial to him whom he faces in next year’s contest?

Although I'm all for stoning Harper I have to question that if the person who wrote this knows anyone that works as a federal civic servant? My girlfriend is with Revenue Canada and they are on constant layoff notice.

The Harper government has a primary mandate of reducing staff sizes wherever possible. Entire departments have been consolidated under Services Canada, eliminated altogether or have been contracted out to companies that pay pennies on the dollar to their employees to perform the same duties. i.e. IT people getting paid $12 per hour with no benefits (who may not even be in Canada) and the closing of what some might deem required offices like Veteran Affairs. The only increase in employment within the Federal government has been with border security, CSIS, Correctional services and the RCMP. The truth is that we have fewer civil servants today than in 1975 and the population of Canada has risen by almost 15 million people.

The far bigger crime by the Harper government is the destruction of jobs that pay a living wage. I don't see a problem in increasing department sizes to keep pace with a growing population. Something that hasn't been done by the Harper government. Instead he has cut jobs from social agencies and increased jobs to policing and prisons. Duh…of course you will need more cops when you have less mental health hospitals and services.

Here's a good explanation of Harper's stance on civic employees from the Globe and Mail. Harper hates you. AKA The Battle of 2014

Under a seperate topic. These attack ads against Trudeau couldn't be any worse. In Ad 2 Trudeau actually makes an empathizing comment about what makes a person cross the line to become a terrorist. "There's no question that this happened because someone feels excluded." Then they end the ad with a shot of Justin Trudeau looking hot showing off his abs in a tight shirt while wind blows his hair in slow motion. In one ad the Conservatives just increased Trudeau's votes with 18-35 year old women and to people that actually think the military state is bullshit and that maybe if we spent more time having group hugs and less time pepper spraying university students we would all be better off.

Allegations that sexism was the cause of Redford's downfall [HTML_REMOVED] resignation. Gimme a fookin' break people. From what I read [HTML_REMOVED] hear, her spending was the cause. If she had run a tight ship, she would still be in office.

The marijuana attack ad an JT was fucking awesome. I thought it was a joke at first. Nancy Reagan called, she wants the 80's back.

I might have to break with my ideology and actually vote for JT.

I wonder what staffer at the Con party didn't realize that they're playing to Trudeau's base (not necessarily the libs, but definitely to Trudeau's base)
