Good thing France plays Tonga, and not Samoa then…

A most excellent penultimate-to-century post!

Terrible kicking, we should have won.

I thought the line-outs were the area where Canada gave up far too much easy possession to be honest. Also, at the beginning of the game, Japan's forward's were outclassed, yet a couple of times in the second half they were able to simply overturn rucks as Canada's pack sat back and waited.

Granted, there were some areas of scrappy play, but I'd like to think this comes as a result of two teams wanting it pretty badly and making mistakes as a result. It was definitely an exciting game to watch.

Canada needs to play flawless to even keep it respectable against NZ.

Much better if they play rugby.

Some of the countries seem to be there as fodder for the good sides.

Well, France's antics on the field are extremely annoying (faking, cheesy play-acting, complaining, and dirty, unsportsmanlike behaviour). If this awakens the primordial rage that seems to live inside every Samoan, Canada's 3rd place could be in jeopardy.

This is why nobody likes the French Rugby team, They have always been doing this.

There where rumblings just after NZ beat them that they threw the game to get a better quarter match up. I call BS on that, seems like an excuse to me.

And the French coach has been told that his contract will not be renewed next season. There is some motivation for him.

Im just waiting for a French player to headbutt someone in the chest before the end of the tournament.

They could have less teams in the competition.

Like hockey and other fringe sports played by a small minority of nations.

Bad news for Canada. Tonga just upset the French and therefore finish third in pool A. Canada now has to qualify for the next world cup.

I hate the French even more now, Clearly no effort or sportsmanship by them. Top Effort from Tonga, hardly any by the French.

Tonga missed a lot of penalties too. But they did play hard.

Stupid French. First they roll over for Hitler … now this.

Canada shouldn't have too much problem qualifying next RWC. In fact it may do them some good to play more games as a team.
