I think it was a bit of both. If you watch Alonso's steering wheel just before impact, he doesn't veer to the right suddenly. They were headed towards each other. The stewards didn't give any penalties, so must be okay.

hm…after seeing it again in slo-mo i agree. That said, it was a bold move on Massa's side.

On another note, after initial testing, McLaren seemed much more promising. They are nowhere. Again. Hard to feel sorry for them though. I don't know why, but they are really not that likeable as a team.

Just off the top of my head I say the top 3 drivers are Hamilton, Alonso [HTML_REMOVED] Riccardo. I know Lewis has the best car by far, but he's making the most of it. Riccardo has out-driven Vettel. Definitely getting more out of the car then Seb. Alonso; put him in a Merc [HTML_REMOVED] it would be over by now. Kimi looks to be in the minor-leagues. Same car [HTML_REMOVED] way down on pace.

I agree with those rankings. Alonso would have his hands full with lewis. Like when they were team mates. Vettel is getting a new chassis built so he can try to catch riccardo! Rosberg is doing well too, his lead looks fragile. Shame about kimi as im a fan of his.

Looks like a battle for #2 after the Mercs. I thought Ferrari had gotten their shit together at the Chinese GP, but no. Obviously the only thing keeping Maldonado at Lotus is the PDVSA sponsorship money that comes with him. It sure isn't his driving ability. He should try Indycar, cause he sure can't drive an F1 car. Monaco is a track where anyone can win, so hopefully things get shaken up.

Awesome race today. Best race of the season so far with lots of drama near the end. I thought Massa had a chance at a podium there for awhile.

Perez continues to be a dangerous idiot. What a stupid time to let off the gas.

Wrong. Always.

care to elaborate?

i admit i haven't looked into it, but it seemed massa lost his nerve and crashed into him. It's easy to be an armchair racer i know, but massa lacked courage for a successful overtake in a few of the laps prior to the accident. I am disappoint.

Well, the race stewards have penalized Perez and not Massa …

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

Take a look at the replay. You will see Perez suddenly slow down nowhere near a turn (and Massa piles into him.) It's a bizarre place to just lift off when they're all going pretty hard at that part.

Wrong. Always.
