I don't know if he was too idealistic because if he was more of a centrist (American style) the line in the sand would be even further to the right. Corporate money has infected the house and the senate and the unemployment rate plays right in to their scare tactics. I doubt any Democrat prez could look good at this point.
That being said I do wish that Obama would just go down swinging and let all the tax cuts expire. The Republicans are the biggest f#@king hypocrites demanding their agenda after handcuffing Obama with filibusters and denying him a mandate.
Politics has to be one of the most frustrating professions for anyone who has ideas of change.
