I'm looking to get some friends of mine that I've been staying with a bottle of wine as a thanks for putting me up gift.
They're self professed "wineos"/"wine sluts"
I know nothing about wine, but they prefer red, and are really into australian wines.
Something under 100 bucks or so a bottle would be ideal

gooch?

Sonoma Coast Vineyards Pinot Noir 2004 reserve. It is from California but it is better than most Australian reds that I have tried and I am a huge fan of Aussie reds.

$56us for the bottle which isn't too bad at all.

Also, Shaky Bridge makes a great Pinot Noir as well, anything before 2006 has been very good. I believe that they are Aussie and it is around $40us

Find a bottle of J Lohr or Greg Norman. Anywhere from 40-75 I think.. thats just the price of the bottle at the course.

I'm not a big wine drinker, but I had this Californian Zin called Earthquake in the summer with a bbq and it was one of the best wines I have ever had.

$46 CDN at Everything Wine, but if you go stateside, it'll only set you back about $20. I brought 2 bottles back last trip down.
