check to see if it smells less when you turn the heating fan off, if it does (get less) then you know whatever is leaking is leaking from around the hood area, and most likely not the exhaust.
if you are getting a headache, it's most likely exhaust, i don't think burnt oil gives you a headache.
Well, well I been movin' down to Florida.
And I'm gonna bowl me a perfect game.
Well I'm gonna cut off my leg down in Florida, child.
And I'm gonna dance one-legged off in the rain.
its an old chevy, don't worry they all do that.
The man has a point.
Could be an exaust manifold/header gasket leak as well….
also check the bottom of the headers where the flange is.
Is the truck carbuerated?
I had a carbed 350 leak at the manifold. Very pricey. Learn to live with it!
Hug a logger, you'll never go back to trees
If it leaked at the exhaust manifold gasket, you would definitely hear it. It would sound like the engine was hammering.

Ticking…kinda like a lifter.
Check for rotten exhaust components right behind the cab…there are vents on the back of the cab that it can be coming through.

Thanks Guys, Gonna explore all these things Saturday. Its a '95 with throttle body injection. Hopingits not an exhaust manifold leak cause it'll be a nightmare getting those rusty things off.

If it's a big enough leak you'll hear it but if its a little fella puttin' away you may not hear over normal vehicle noise.
If you end up pulling off the exhaust manifold, you can buy a little spreader tool from Napa or Lordco. Sometimes the manifold warps due to heat [HTML_REMOVED] is very tough to bolt back on. You can insert the spreader tool in between, so it bolts up easier. Then remove it once you get the bolts in.

This…don't even try without the spreaders.

Also check for fuel system leaks. Causes headaches as well.
someone made a good point about your PCV too.
if you have a a bagged engine with buttloads of blow by and your PCV isn't going into your intake it would make for some serious dankness
