Posting up my now stolen silver 2006 Mazdaspeed6 with a few key indentifier's.

Large dent on the passenger side door.
Smaller dent on the same side fender and bumper cover, just above the wheel.
Passenger mirror is missing the shell/casing.
Front license plate is attached but missing the decals.
Rear plate is starting peel on the first number.

Its a four door sedan, factory antennae (long whip looking thing), factory window tint on the rear windows. Plate number is a local radio station and an upper limb. Easiest one ever.

Attached picture is the dented door from a shoplifter running into it b/c he was too busy looking behind at the BC Liquor staff chasing him as he was running through the parking lot. And yes he was taken down by the Shogun after I got out and chased his worthless ass down. Stupid thief stole the VSOP Hennessey and not the XO.

Was for the best though, he dropped the box as I choked him down and the bottle broke out of the box in his hand which then obviously proceeded to smash into tiny pieces.

I'm looking at buying a used car. I'll be using it mostly for family hauling (1 baby, 1 toddler, two parents).

I read everywhere that you can save when buying with cash. How much could I reasonably expect to bring the price down from what I see advertised on AutoTrader or the dealer's website?

I'm hoping to pare down the price on a three-four year old 2WD base Toyota RAV4 or Honda CRV from $17 999ish to $15 500ish. Is this possible? Both are at dealers.

And why are the same used cars in Quebec cheaper? All the road salt they deal with?

Off less than you want to pay and negotiate up to what you want to pay.

The key is to be entirely willing to walk away if you don't get your price.

Since they're at dealers, look up each vehicles year and their associated TSB's or tech service bulletins. Essentially minor recalls that if some need doing, it can work as a bargaining chip for both sides. If some need doing, the dealership can say it costs this much and vice versa if its not done. Or if you read some, you may just avoid that particular vehicle altogether.

As for bargaining, not my forte but if you have $13k cash or certified cheque, that'll get their attention. Could also try put to a deposit down on one you like, wait them out a bit and then get it back if it doesnt go your way. They will (obviously) try to keep youre loot so balls in your court at that point.

Good luck.

They have been driven by Quebecers.
