NSMB Automotive Thread ( Q&A, Car Porn, etc)

Figured if there's a gun thread, a beer thread (somewhere), there should also be an automotive thread instead of random threads. Consider it a substitute to round out the ATF, just without the tobacker b/c apparently, smokings evil.

I'll start off with a question. If I have a cold air intake that the end going into the turbo inlet isnt exactly round causing some pre-boost leaks, should I take it to a shop or just hamfistedly round it back to oval with home tools. Home tools consist of very few actual tools btw but a good solid screwdriver, various wrenches and some sockets. I have a short ram on now but with summer here the CAI provides air intake temp's 20-30C cooler than the SRI and speedy likes that and yes, I have data logged that.

And now for some car porn. Everyone loves to hate on Ford but I'm loving the new Mustang. The Camaro and Challenger look like bricks comparatively (imo).

2016 GT

This reminds me a GTR Mustang love child. There's a GT 500 and a Mach1 which anyone can google image. But the blue looks good. Changing it up, I've seen one of these on south Granville (marpole) a few times. Nothing like a $1.2 million car to over shadow the usual Lambo, Ferrari and Bentley 'super car commuters'.

Pre boost leaks means your turbo (and engine) is suckin in unfiltered air. get that thing sealing up properly stat.

I realize that - the SRI seals up fine. The CAI is currently uninstalled and uneven due to being dropped once or thrice being removed every fall. It's the turbo inlet coupler and the uneven surface of the CAI thats causing my fuel trims to be way the eff off.

This is even moar awesome: My clutch pedal temporarily broke itself coming back from Whistler last Wed. Got stuck in upper levels traffic where I was in 1st for 45 minutes (from lonsdale to top of the cut), took the Willingdon exit of the #1 and when the light turned I could barely get it into gear and the pedal was sitting almost on the floor. Made my way onto Canada way as I changed plans to just get it home, slid my foot under the clutch pedal, gave it a little lift and it popped back into place. So its fine. In fact, it feels better than ever. So I have very little time left on it in my mind.

Anyone dealt with Eunos automotive? Will be taking delivery of a 1990 miata soon and would like to find a shop that knows them. I hear they are Mazda specialists.

I could take or leave mustangs but was impressed as I drove by a ford dealership that the new ones actually caught my eye.

Gasoline cars are so boring.

You don't need to use the clutch to shift gears.

The person driving the hellcat doesn't have a clue what they are doing.

This is a quick vid of my wife's cousin driving "Hyper Henry"

This car was raced in the 60's/70's by her father, after he passed away her cousin tracked it down and rebuilt it.
