just saw on cbc that Aussies may have spotted some debris, interesting since I read this piece earlier today…. http://www.weathergraphics.com/malaysia/contrail.shtml

Just saw the roughly estimated search area. It basically the middle f fucking no where. There is nothing there and is almost out of reach of satellite surveillance. And during the press info session they commented that a storm is moving int the search area and visibility is decreasing.

The RAAF are sending a total of three P3 Orion's to search the area. To give an idea of the distance involved….this would be like flying roughly from Vancouver to Toronto. Do a grid search. Then fly back the same distance all with out landing. Potentially they could search longer if the Australian P3's are air to air refuelling capable,

Not endorsed on all, just maintenance experiance.

Dhc8, crj100/200/900, A319/320/321, Bae146 endorsements but I worked on all the other stuff at; Kelowna flightcraft (as well as a bit on Cv580/5800, DC3, T33 and that mi17 project they had going), Air Canada, Air BC, and cascade. Did some contract stuff for hawk air, rtd, western helicraft, and westex to boot as well.

Had a good time, but on to other stuff now.

You an AME?

Trained as one yes. I actually dodged all aviation in the beginning as I got out of school at a shitty time, and went right into Aeroderivative gas turbine, did field service on Rolls Royce out of a Calgary. Did a lot of cool things, and been to a lot of cool (and scary/politically unstable) places. Now I'm back in Aviation at M.TU here on the Coast. Engine Line Inspector for GE and CFMI Turbofans. Basically I feel like I'm very early retirement. I may ride this gig out for as long as possible8)

The report I saw said that the debris reported, estimated to be about 70 feet in length, was from a satellite picture taken 4 days ago (thank you Courtney Love :))… the visibility has been poor and there has been a storm in the area, but the RAAF had a C130 dropping buoys but nothing actually seen or recovered so far.

Apparently the buoys the Herc is dropping are to get data to plot currents in the area to try to figure out where the debris may drift.

Underground hanger

That could be gold - just search the passenger manifest for anyone whose has just one name (like "Silva", "Blofeld" or "Scaramanga") whose home address is a hollowed-out volcano and bingo!

Clearly this is the work of SPECTRE.

Search is now focusing on the area now known as the "Love Triangle".

Here you go……

An Infantile Faith in Technology

So awesome. I could not have written an article about a missing flight that still managed to mention Iraq and the PNAC if I tried. Gold.

Cliff notes: If you think we really ought to know where all commercial jets are at any given moment this "is both symptomatic and causal of some very antisocial ways of relating to the rest of the world."
